EDUCATION

Currently – Ongoing participation in Miami art studios in live figure drawing sessions from live models.

1987 – Printmaking & Drawing courses. Florida Int’l University. Miami, Fl.

1981 – M.S. in Art Education. Florida Int’l University. Miami, Fl. Completed the research study: “A Comparative Study of Children’s Drawings, Depicting the Creative Developmental Growth of Two Socio-Economic Groups”, using as criteria Victor Lowenfeld’s stages of creative development. Carried out in the schools of San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic.

1972-73 – Classical Drawing & Painting Studies. Passed Exam & was accepted to the School of Applied Arts (Escuela de Artes Aplicadas) Seville, Spain.

1971 – B.A. Summa Cum Laude – Major in Education, Minor in Art, St. Bernard College, Alabama.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1991 to the present – Private Art Studio. Miami, Fl. Instructor of Art Workshops offered to beginners & advanced students (children & adults) in drawing, pastels, watercolor, mixed media, design, art appreciation & art history.

Summer 1990 - Spring 1991 – Florida Int’l University. Miami, Fl. Visiting Professor, College of Education Taught course: Art in the Elementary School.

1983-1990 – Dade County Public School System. Miami, Fl. Art teacher (Grades K-6) & Museum Educator in the Museum Education Program.

1991-1992 – Created, taught and coordinated the independent art project: Young Artistic Encounter ’92: Miami ~ Seville / Encuentro Juvenil de Arte ’92 Miami ~ Sevilla.  More than 60 art works by public school students from Miami, U.S.A. and Seville, Spain were created within a cultural exchange program commemorating the Quincentennial of America’s discovery and exhibited in the cities of Miami and Seville with the collaboration of the Dade County Public School System and the Junta de Andalucía, Consejería de Educación y Ciencia, Delegación Provincial de Sevilla. Works were exhibited in June 1992 in the School of Fine Arts in Seville during the World Fair Exhibition in that city and in the Bacardi Gallery in Miami, Florida on October 1992 as part of the events commemorating the 500 years of the discovery of the New World. 

Spring 1992 – International College of Seville, Spain. Taught course: Art History of Spain.

1979-1982 – International Fine Arts College. Miami, Fl. Taught courses: Dynamics of Art & Fashion Illustration.

1978-1982 – Miami Dade Community College, South Campus. Dept. of Continuing Education, Miami, Fl.  Taught two courses: Basic Drawing & Interior Design.
